The Homestead exemption offers all eligible homeowners (age 65 or over with an Ohio adjusted income of no more than $40,000) the opportunity to reduce up to $28,000 of the market value of their home from property taxes. Those who qualify are saving, on average, $400 per year. Veterans who are 100% service-connected disabled may also qualify for an additional reduction.
